Stuff to do in TN (Sadie)

Stuff to do in TN

First I got to go to piano lessons with the youngest child at AGR. He's pretty good. He's learning Bohemian Rhapsody right now. I even learned a couple songs myself.

Most of the day I spent playing with the other girls here. They have lots of toys and things to do. Can you see the beginnings of my Lincoln Log house?

Now this is SOME PEEP! I wish he was real so I could eat him up. But he's so soft and squishy that I just hugged on him for a while.

When bed time rolled around, the girls and I stayed up and had some rootbeer and told stories. It was fun, but I think I'd better rest up today since I stayed up all night!

Traveling Sadie Arrives

Here in Tennessee!

We have a new traveling doll here now. Mercedes (GT#11) is from Pennsylvania. She has already spent some time in Alaska and Oregon. After her time here in Tennessee she is scheduled to go to Chicago, Cincinnati, Connecticut and Wisconsin before returning back to her Mama in PA. What fun for Sadie! (Sadie has her own blog)

Hi Family! I just wanted to let you all know that I've arrived safely in Tennessee. My box was a bit smooshed, but I'm okay. The weather certainly is warmer here than it has been on my travels so far.

I met some of the girls who live here with AGR, but they all don't share the same room. Here's me with Jess, Kailey, Mia and Darcy. You can almost see Nicki behind me.

The girls in the other room made a bit of closet space for me so that I could hang up my things. I think I'm going to enjoy my time here. Thanks for letting me travel!

Isabel: Girl of Many Lands

In the winter of 2002 American Girl began manufacturing a series of 8 dolls and books to represent 12 year old girls from different countries of the world. Unfortunately they only sold them for 3 years. We got our first Girls of Many Lands doll, Isabel, today. Isabel is from the country of England in the year 1592. She stands 9" tall.

Welcome Isabel!

Alex heads out

We've had lots of fun with Traveling Alex. I just realized when I got her box out of the basement to get her packed up and ready to go on her next adventure, that she has her OWN blog! I'm so sorry that I didn't post on her own blog the whole time she was with us, so I put the entries over there today so we could keep all her adventures together.

If you want to keep up with Alex as she goes other places, you can follow her blog
The Adventures of Traveling Alexandria.

The girls here were very sad (we all are) to send Alex on her way. We made her a lunch to take with her so she wouldn't get hungry on her trip to Virginia.

We made her a PB&J, a Mayfield chocolate milk, a bag of Cheetos,
an apple and a Twinkie.

Now she's all packed and ready to head out. Goodbye, Alex!!
We are going to miss you SO much!

Star Gazing

Alex loves astronomy so we took her outside to get a glimpse
of all the beautiful stars in the heavens.

UT Lady Vols

Alex got to go with me to the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball game last night. It was "think pink" night where we were raising money for breast cancer awareness. So she had to wear pink as well as the traditional orange.

This was the only good picture I got of her because there were 17,000 (dressed in pink) fans. She's wearing Jess's meet skirt too...which looks pretty good with this shirt.
UT won, but just barely and just in the last .2 of a second. Go Vols!

Alex Time Travels

Alex discovered that if she reads, she can go anywhere!

First she read about and visited Julie in the 1970's.

Then she traveled back a bit further by reading about Molly in the 1940's.

The next story took her back to the 1930's where she met Kit.

Then she read Meet Samantha which whisked her away to the early 1900's.

Then she traveled to the 1860's where she met Addy.

Her next book, Meet Kirsten, took her all the way back to the 1850's!

Then she read Meet Josefina which took her back to the 1820's.

The next book she read had her traveling to the 1770's where she met Felicity
(and Penny, too!)

Last she read the book Meet Kaya which landed her all the way back to the 1760's.

Alex had a great time traveling to other times through reading. You can too!

Alex goes to a hockey game

Traveling Alex got to go with us to watch the Knoxville Ice Bears (SPHL) play hockey last night. Mia let her borrow her hockey jersey to wear. There was also Weiner Dog Races during first break and Alex got to pose with one of the entries.

She wanted to have this picture taken for Lindsey who misses her
Mr. Tiny and wishes AG had made him.

Alex got to meet one of the Ice Bears' mascots, Nippy.
Nippy was in love and gave her a kiss just after this photo was taken.

Of course, Alex had to fit right in with the rest of the
fans at the hockey arena with her rally beads on.

No hockey game is complete without a little beating on the glass to irritate the players.
It was a fun night and our team won 6-2. Yeah, Ice Bears!
